Finished!
Everything is done. The powerpoint presentation, the activity, and the "how to create" document and I also made a webpage that summarizes all this stuff and linked it from my homepage. I'm so happy that this is done because I was starting to get antzy and wanted to get it done and out of my hair because it was a little time consuming for me but it all worked out in the end!

Excel Done
Well, I finally got the excel portion of my Learning Experience done! WHOOOOO HOOOO!!! Now all I have to do is to take all my printscreen pics from the process of constructing the excel part into a powerpoint so that I can explain it nicely. I'm just so happy that the excell part done with. It shouldn't take me too long to do the powerpoint but I don't want to eat my words later so I'm just doing to say it's the next thing to do on my list.

Is this thing done yet?
I'm almost done with the project but I feel like it's taken forever. I've decided to have my presentation just the activity and not the actual construction of the excel spreadsheet. So that will make it easier for me because I don't have to include every single step of how I made the sheets. The activity will still have the students using the applications of excel, but not as in depth as they would if they made the spreadsheets themselves. Just an update.

Putting it all together
So I've been constructing my project and it seems like it's taking forever to do. I have a cool idea where students actually use the applications in excel and the problem is the activity is for 2nd. grade. Now I know that these students probably would have some knowledge about computers at this age, but I'm making sure I cover everything that I do from changing the font to changing the colors and borders of the project. I'm just getting anxious because I want this project to be good, but in order to do that, I have to include everything.

CSO's
I've chosen my topic and my idea and so no I've gone and found my CSO's. I've decided to do a neat activity involving maps and coordinates and stuff like that. Also, my project is very multi-disiplinary because the main focus is Social Studies, but math can be easily incorporated.

New thing
Well, I've sort of changed my idea a little bit. It's still very much the same, but just a little bit different. I'm sure we went over this in class but I'm not sure if we are supposed to teach the lesson or activity for lik 15 mins or are we just going to give a lil blurb about it in class and just show what we did briefly. This will determine how I'm going to set up my complete presentation because if I get 15 mins, then I can do a lot more with my project.

About Me
- Gina
- Hello everyone. My name is Gina and this is my blog for a course called EDUC 6809 Teaching in the New Media Age. One quote I believe relates to my feelings toward education is a segment from the popular show Boy Meets World: George Feeny: Believe in yourselves. Dream. Try. Do good. Topanga: I will never forget you [Mr. Feeny]. You were more of a father to me than my own dad. Shawn: You never gave up on me. Never once. I’m not going to forget you. You’re the best person I know. Eric: I don’t know what’s going to happen to me. But I do know that I’m going to be a good person who cares about people. And I blame you for that. Cory: You’ll always be with us. As long as we live, okay? George Feeny: I love you all. Class dismissed.
